1979. Enrico Baj – artist, intellectual and author of numerous publications – interprets, in his unique and recognisable style, a menu by Gualtiero Marchesi: Le Diner de l’Apocalypse chez Marchesi.
An extremely rare lithograph in which Baj presents his vision of the Apocalypse applied to the world of food. The French names of the dishes are clear literary references leaving ample scope for the imagination to interpret what they might be.
The creation captures what you might call Enrico Baj’s signature style: a combination of multi-material collage and his markedly Surrealist and Dadaist painting style, complete with grotesque and caricatured characters peeping out at you.
