INGREDIENTS for 0 people
  • 1 lb all-purpose flour
  • ¾ oz fresh yeast
  • ½ cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 2 tablespoons aromatic herbs
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • salt
Preparation

Dissolve the yeast in 3 tbsp of warm water. Add 3.5 oz flour and mix the ingredients together to form a loaf of dough. Cut a little cross on top and place in a floured bowl and cover with a dish cloth. Let rise for 20 minutes. Form a well with the rest of the flour. Add a tiny bit of salt and pour 2 tbsp of oil into the center of the well. Begin the mix in the flour. Add the soft butter in pieces and work this into the flour. Then add the risen dough and continue to work the dough, adding the powdered hers and less then 2 tsp of warm water. Once the dough has a good consistency, knead for at least 10 minutes. Shape into a loaf and place in a floured bowl. Cut a cross on top of the dough and let rise for an hour. Then stretch out the dough on a oiled baking sheet. Cook the focaccia in a 450 °F oven for 15 to 20 minutes.
