INGREDIENTS for 0 people
  • ⅝ lb all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 ¾ oz butter
  • 1 ¾ oz sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Rum
  • lemon
  • salt
  • olive oil
Preparation

Typical Carnival sweet. Amalgamate flour, sugar, eggs, grated lemon zest, butter and liqueur. Leave the mixture to rest for 30 minutes and then roll out 0.2 inch thick.

Cut with a toothed wheel into strips of 6 x 1.6 inches, knot these strips and fry them in boiling olive oil until golden. Leave to dry on kitchen paper and serve hot sprinkled with powdered sugar.
